Any scenario that an individual comes up with regarding the role of a "smart gun" plays in saving a gun users life, only serves to illustrate the ignorance of that individual. The false assumption that proper training in the use and transport of firearms can be exchanged for a "smart gun" only serves to emphasize that they should have been better prepared (through training) in the use and transport of a firearm. You cannot Idiot-Proof a firearm! If firearms manufacturers design, build and sell "smart guns", the criminals will develop methods to disable this "Smart Gun" very shortly thereafter.
If you are under the false assumption that a "Smart Gun" (or Smart Gun Technologies) would save lives, you need to realize that if the firearms training and safety practices of the adult gun owner are so lax about the firearm itself, that it ends up in the possession of a child who has not been properly trained in the use of a firearm, why would that same individual not also be equally as lax about the trigger / key device? Thus rendering the "Smart Gun" no more SAFE than a standard handgun. Actually much less safe, due to the false sense of security that the bogus "Smart Gun" technology provides!!
